The
TRUST- ITS AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The Friends of Biggar Music Club
Trust has been set up to create an endowment fund with a five-year
target of £20,000.
All the money which is donated
will be treated as capital and will be carefully invested
to produce income in due course.
This income will be used to support
the Music Club and help it to meet the ever-rising cost of
professional fees for the top-ranking artists and musicians
who feature in every Biggar Music Club concert. And in the
unlikely event of the Club's facing a financial crisis, the
capital fund may provide a safety net.

From
the President of the Biggar Music Club
The Biggar Music Club was founded
in 1960 and every year since then has been bringing to this
comer of Scotland a season of concerts of classical and contemporary
music performed by musicians of national and international
acclaim.
We have always encouraged young artists
and we have an enviable reputation with our audiences and
amongst the promoters of music in Scotland for the very high
standards of our concerts. But being able to meet the ever
rising cost becomes increasingly difficult and would never
be possible without generous help from the Scottish Arts Council
and our other sponsors and supporters.
This is why the Friends' Trust has
been founded. It is a quite separate body from the Music Club
and is run by its own Board of Trustees. But its single purpose
is to provide long-term financial help to the Music Club.
It will do this by seeking your support and that of others,
including members of the Club.
You can become a Friend by contributing
to the endowment or capital fund which has been started, simply
by contacting trust@biggarmusic.org.uk,
and if you are a tax payer and because we are a Scottish Charity,
the value of your gift will be increased by 28% under the
Gift Aid scheme. Whatever you choose to give will be added
to the fund and will be carefully invested to produce, in
due course, income for the Club. So your contribution, whether
a single or an annual donation - or perhaps a bequest - will
help to provide long-term support. You will thus be playing
an important part in ensuring that the Biggar Music Club may
continue to enhance the cultural life of Biggar and the surrounding
area.
